Lohri

Lohri is celebrated all over India but has different names in different regions. This festival marks the end of winter and staring of spring season. In Punjab Dulla Bhatti saga is associated with this festival. Also new born babies and newly wed couples celebrate this festival with too much enthusiasm. At night people get together and dance around the bonfire and enjoy jaggery, peanuts, til, gajak and popcorn.
This festival has many names
Maharashtra – Makar Sanskranti
Tamil Nadu – Pongal
Gujrat – Sankrant
West Bengal – Ganga Sagar Mela
