I’m Falling in Love

DownUp +12

Baby, tell me things I need to do.
This feeling I cannot hide any longer.
How can I keep this as a secret?
If every time I see you around.

I try not to fall in love with you.
I know this is just an insanity
But, how could I resist your charm?
Tell me, what should I do now?

Each passing day,
I am falling in love with you.
Every time I see your smile,
I can’t get you out of my mind.

Your beauty always shines
Please, don’t leave me behind.
I am truly blessed
‘Cause I fall in love with you.

“The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire, Jr.

DownUp 0

I remember when you started
Your professional boxing career.
You were an underdog and miscalculated
By a tough and undefeated Armenian boxer.

In a violent and brutal night,
You knocked “The Raging Bull” out
With a powerful “Flash” punch
That automatically ended the fight.

I remember how you finished “Cochulito” Montiel.
The boxing fans around the world could tell
How he’d developed an epileptic attack
After that payback.

I remember  how you bravely fought like a man
Against Omar Narvaez, Arce and Nishioka of Japan.
I remember how you easily beat them all.

After all,
You are “The Filipino Flash”  Nonito Donaire, Jr.

Manny Pacquiao

DownUp +27

As a young boy,
He lived in extreme poverty
And worked as a construction boy.
Even though there were no foods to offer
On the table and being a boxer
Was the only way to feed his family,
He never lost his faith in God Almighty.
Not a single day he missed to pray.
Until one day,
He discovered his special gifts.

In the sport of boxing today,
He’s a pound-for-pound king.
Within the ring,
People called him “The Beast”
‘Cause many boxing legends had tried their best
As they’d promised to defeat “The Beast.”
But none of them came to close.
By his powerful hands and blind speeds,
they’d suffered the shocking loss.

Manny Pacquiao is an all-time-great,
A philanthropist,
“The Nation’s Fist,”
“The Fighting Pride of the Philippines,”
“The Fighting Congressman,”
The “Pac-Man,”
“The Mexicutioner,”
“The Destroyer,”
An actor,
A singer,
A prizefighter,
A “Fighter of the Decade,”
And an eight-division world champion.
He is my pride!

DownUp -1

I am a nurse by profession,
A poet by passion,
Keep my faith in God above,
Indeed, all of them I love.

My heart is never dread,
Message of the Lord I spread,
View life in a positive way
And no regrets every day.

Strive to be inspiring,
Thankful for the blessing,
In God’s name,
I’ll make Him very fame.

I Am Alon Dy

DownUp 0

I am Alon Dy,
Son of Mila and Tong Dy,
Brother of Kissy and Milton Dy,
Who loves his wife and his family.

I am a nurse
Who touches the hearts and minds of the patients,
Who stands and fights for what is right,
Who knows his limits as a nurse.

I am a dreamer
Who has always option one, two, and three.
I never quit, as it is not in my vocabulary.
Just because others  throw their hands up and cry,
Doesn’t mean I’ll just leave it high and dry.

I feel bad that some people are ignorant,
Talking shit behind your back like this and that
These people need to realize,
I do not mind and I do not care.

Backbiting, prejudice and hatred,
These are negative attitudes that need to eliminate.
Trust me, people still change and
Do this now while there is time.
So please, it is not too late.

Once again, I am Alon Dy
Who fears no one except God.
I understand I cannot please everybody.
I admit I make mistakes sometimes.
I say sorry, but still,
Need to love each and everyone.

I’m aware I have many friends.
I know I select only few.
I understand, yet wonder why I’m like this.
It’s plain and simple,
Few of them are true.

Loneliness

DownUp +10

When I go to sleep,
I dream so deep.
Holding your soft hands,
Kissing your kissable red lips
And embracing you tight.
In the warmest of the night,
Our two hearts talk about love
And why we love each other so much.
Suddenly,
An alarm wakes me up from my beautiful rest.
For that very special moment,
A brightest smile shines on my face
And loneliness in me is finally gone.

Always On My Mind

DownUp +2

Wherever I go,
Whatever I do,
A woman of your kind,
Always on my mind.

I love you,
I always love you,
A simple words I do admit
Yet full of energy and heat.

Day and night,
I pray for your safety and health.
Before I go to sleep,
I would think of you so deep.

You’re like a drug,
‘Cause I’m addicted to you.
You’re like a beautiful seed,
Planted on my mind.

Together and forever,
You’ll never be apart
In my heart,
My one and only lover.

I Miss You

DownUp +21

I miss you, my baby.
It’s not easy for me to say goodbye.
I miss you and I wish I could stay.
I can’t understand these feelings anymore.

I miss you and I feel very lonely.
It’s hard for me to go
‘Cause I miss everything that we do.
I miss you but I want you to be happy.

I miss you, my love.
I wish we could be together soon.
I hope to see you again.
I miss the old you-and the old me.

Life goes on around me.
I must pretend  that I’m alright
Even though it’s too difficult
For me without you by my side.

I miss you so much.
I know you never see me cry.
But the truth is,
I cry for you every day.

I dream about the day
Just you and me
Talking about what we wanted to be
‘Cause what matters to me
Is you and my family.

She is My Mother

DownUp -3

She is a woman
Who feeds, cuddles, and loves me.
The one who gave birth to me.
I’m her greatest fan.

She is my mother
Who loves my father,
Does anything for her children
And takes care of her grandchildren.

She is my best friend too,
Comforts me when I feel blue.
She is my best mother,
I couldn’t replace her with another.

She is a sweet and loving parent
Who cooks my favorite foods,
Does household chores
And looks after my grandparents.

She does multi tasks
And gives me anything I ask
Because for her,
I’m her wealth and power.

When I was a child,
She taught me how to fear God.
Sometimes, I found it awkward
But she would understand.

When I married my fiancee
She told me,
”Love your wife as your mother.”
Her advice I’d treasure forever.

Every now and then,
She would send an email.
She would always tell,
”I love you and I miss you son.”

She is my mother,
A wonderful mother
To her sons and daughter.
I am very proud of her.

This poem is dedicated to all mothers of the world. To my mother Mila Calinao Dy who passed the NCLEX Exam and for her upcoming 55th birthday this month. Stay healthy mom and thank you Lord God for the blessings that you gave to us.

Strange Love

DownUp +6

How many times I’ve told you
That I really do love you
How many times you’ve said to me,
“You trust me with all your life.”

But why you always ask
As if it’s an important task,
If you could ever imagine
How vast is my love,
I think you’d be speechless.

Do you think it is funny
To question every word I say?
I now begin to doubt your love
If it would last for a day.

Yes, I have known you
Over a short period of time
But it doesn’t mean
You are out of the range.

It sounds crazy I guess
But I love you always
Because you give meaning
In my miserable life.

You give me a bright smile
And the love I always admire
I know, darling, you are worried
But I’m here to make you understand.

I won’t bring you any pain
I promise you’ve so much to gain.
Please, listen to me now.
I’ll love as long as you want me too.

I love you, you’re the air that I breath
And that’s absolutely the truth.
