Responsibilities of Moderators and Supermoderators

First of all congrats to all mods and supermods. DC Forum is growing rapidly and we owe a special thanks to all our members. But with increasing members base, we need to have special check on the posts and behavior of all members of this online family. So here I along with Desiboy are defining some of the responsibilities of moderators and supermoderators.

1) First and foremost they should welcome and tell rules to all newbies and make sure they feel like home. For rules go here

2) Moderate posts/threads and move them to proper sections.

3) Delete all unwanted/spam/duplicate posts. [ any threatening, defamatory, obscene, abusive or illegal material can be classified as unwanted post]

4) Give Infractions to the members who create problems.

5) Sticky useful posts.

6) Mediate any arguments between members. Don't jump to conclusions without knowing the exact scenario.

7) Never indulge in personal attack or bias. [ Failing to have independent and responsible stand on the issue would revoke your powers.]

8) Being a Mod doesn't mean u can do anything to any thread or post. Never ever misuse your powers, or they'll be revoked.


Also any moderator or supermoderator failing to be active for more than 1 month or so could be changed back to normal member and his or her place might be taken by a new deserving mod.

We are open to more suggestions.

As a special grant of privileges, Rajan and Prabhjot Kaur have power to ban members. All mods can seek the help from them.
