So here is the thing my friends....
Todai i was having a discussion with my little brother who is now in grade 12th and will be graduating high school in 2010....and in our discussion he brought up what he wants to do further in life....
so after talkin to him for a while, we got into deep on this topic and he started saying how he wants to be a CORPORATE LAWYER...my next question to him was...."WHY?"....this is the reply i got...."Because its good money...i will make more than 100,000 dollars a year..what else do i want???"....and when i asked him is this sumthing that interests you though? i mean what do u like about being a lawyer besides the money, and he said, "I dn't knwww...i do njoi having discussions in class thats it...but its the money i care about..so its either going to be a LAWYER or i would just become a COP because they get paid vacation like all the time and soo many other benefits!"
Recent survey was done in schools in toronto and we found out that kids these days....the currents generation which is goin to graduate soon..this year or in the coming yrs considers MONEY over their personal interests...which means that our future is at risk....because if you think that you want to be a lawyer because of the MONEY you will make in the whole year...but u dn't have the capability of being one then do u think u can excel in this field of profession??? Y has the Younger generation become sooo MONEY MINDED???
So here is the poll....if you still havent chosen a career then i want to know if you will pick a career considering what???.... also if you are already passed this stage, which m sure most of us are...then i want to know what would you expect from our younger generation or your own kids in future....2 factors here...
1. The MONEY you will be making
2. Your interest and capability, considering what is your strength and what is the best profession for you.
Please tell me your views....M sure we are all concerned about the future....because i realli don't believe that the WORLD WILL END IN 2012.....:p
LETS DISCUSS!!!

Well, Its kinda Drastic situation to handle.. for a fresh graduate...
Basically there are three situations in India... rather than two..
1. What a person himself is interested in doing..
2. Second is that profession which gives much more earning (provided he is capable of that.. :d)
3. Third one is the profession in which your parents wanted to put you... thinking even before you, since ur childhood..
The latter situation, was strong in early years as children weren't educated much and followed the profession laid out by their parents.. (As in case of my father.. :()
Now its being decreased, as parents follow on by cooperating with the children..
Giving out their valuable opinions and let the child decide himself... (My case.. :d)
Now comes the matter of Interest and More earning....
If a person wants a job for only for his massive money requirement.... He should go for it...
But remember this kinda job offerings... has much more responsibilties... much more job work...
Normally doin all the hard work, people get out of touch with their families.. (My cousin's case.. :( )
Now If we do a job of our interest.... We can excel in that field much easily..
Because of the Human Nature.. If a person like some thing... he'll love doin any kinda work related to it....
which is not in the Ist case... (More Money Job).. You'll have to develop your interest against the field you are working upon....
which according to my opinion, doesn't always work....
In the IInd case.. you'll find much more piece of mind.. Your Inner soul will be happy performing the job.. :)
But it do has some negative points.. (Only in some cases.,..)
eg: An Artist... he struggles nearly half of his life.... to make the name and fame in the field he want..
(My Taiya ji's Case... ) Mr. Avtarjeet Singh Dhanjal - Sculpturist UK
He got satisfaction recently, :) ... at the age above 55... :(

Perfect....:)
thanx a lot for your opinion....
so u mean goin for a money minded job is fyn if your ready for all the responsibility and extra work that will come along..not the forget the STRESS...
but then again choosing and doing sumthn that you will be good at just makes life more easier and eventually more content for you....:)

Nice topic for debate Priya :)
Seems to me you too watched "3 Idiots" awesome movie....:)
I think in every field you can make lot of money...you just need to be good at it. So I'll say option B...
But in a country like India, where is tough to make a good living..people mostly choose more practical approach, they'll choose the field in which their future is secure.
Peer pressure, pressure from parents make the students go for the carrier in which one can make a decent living.

but this topic came to me mainly coz of my brother....he is preety certain abou what he wants to do...but i fear if he is ready to take up all the pressure.......
but he is a brilliant A+ student, just that i dn't want him to take up sumthn he wudnt be happi doing tomorroe even if he is doin better in it.....:(
n yes preet i did like ur views on the topic as well....so THANX a lot....:)
i think PRESSURE frm all sides can be one of the reasons....gosh how much we all running after money.....n i wudnt say that my case is different....
ME n NUMBERS never got along.....n todai m working at the bank...because its GOOD MONEY....n my mom always wanted to see my working at a financial institution....m doin great at my position..but sumthn sumwhr is missin....
coz my dream hasnt been completely....i always wanted to have my OWN dancing school...which didnt happen...maybe in fututre it will, m neva gna stop running after it ofcoz...:p..coz i know how it feels to be doin sumthn every single day and not loving it....:(
n yes Guri i read the latter part as well....and ur right..sumtimes it can take foreva to get what u want...but hey common...if ur willing to wait n go for it....then WATS THE ISSUE....n bou ur uncle...so he is finally satisfied ryte? atlst he knwz now that he got what he wanted in life...u knw in this case even the days remaining can be lived at PEACE....:)
THANX GUYZ!!!

Well...
It's a bit complicatad...not an easy task...
I,myself care the least about money...So I never go for it...
I believe if you go for your interests and do what you are really good at...eventually money will come to you too...
'cos if you are good at one thing...You will act smartly and will be so creative...Your mind will fly to the summits of that think and will take you too...
But if you don't feel good about what you go for...Then Everyday you will spread negative rays ...and they say nature will give it back to you!
We should do the stuff which make us happy...and we enjoy...
It really matters to me...
I loved the thread...
Thanks loads:)
