Neha was born to Commander Pradip Dhupia, who served in the Indian Navy and mother Manpinder. She has an elder brother, Hardeep.She was raised as a Sikh.

She went to Naval Public School, Cochin and New Delhi, then transferred to Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi. She completed her graduation in History (Hons) from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University.
Career
Neha started her career with a play in New Delhi called Graffiti. Thereafter she did a music video for a top Indipop band - Euphoria. She also modeled for numerous advertisement campaigns. She did the TV serial "Rajdhani". She also did a song with Ginuwine & Shayal called "Baby".
Bollywood films with Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) which was a success at the box office. She rose to popularity with her bold role in the film Julie which gave her the status of a sex symbol. She followed up her success with the dual role of twin sisters in Sheesha (2005) which did not do well at the box office.She has continued to appear in films such as Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) which did well at the box office and recently appeared in a segment of the anthology film Dus Kahaniyaan (2007).
Neha has made a mark as a successful actress with both critically and commercially acclaimed films like "Chup Chup Ke" (2006), "Ek Chalis Ki Last Local" (2007), "Mithya" (2008), "Maharathi" (2008), "Singh Is King"(2008), "Dasvidaniya" (2008).
She has 6 films waiting to be released in 2009 which are "Paying Guest", "Pappu can't dance sala", "Raftaar","Raat gayi baat gayi", "I'm 24" and "De Dhanadhan".
She worked on her first international mini series with "Chris Kattan" for IFC called "Bollywood Hero", which aired August 6-8, 2009.
She is currently working on Vipul Shah's next directorial venture "Action replay".
