In France, it is called as “La Fete Nationale” or “le quatorze juillet”. On 14th July 1789, the large number of French citizens attacked the Bastille and indicated the French Revolution’s beginning. In France, Bastille was a prison where people were imprisoned by kings and queens who did not agree to their commands. This day marks the end of monarchy and the beginning of republic. The celebrations include dances, balls, military and civilian processions, fireworks, communal meals and musical performances.
